Best Is Yet To Be

Today, I worked on signs ALL day. Tomorrow is pay day so I'll have to go early in the morning and turn them in to get paid for them. I wanted a decent paycheck because we're leaving next Thursday to go camping on the beach for a week. I think we'll be at El Capitan again this year. It's beautiful there, but the water is still so cold, the only ones in my family that actually get all the way in are my oldest son and my crazy husband. I'm thinking of buying my little guy a wet suit so the cold won't affect him as much, he just CAN'T stay out of that water. I guess my Crab & Co set has come in but I probably won't get it for another couple of days. It is such a fun set I can't wait to use it.

I'll have to start making Father's Day cards tomorrow for the store because we'll be gone during FD like we always are (at the beach with my dh family, I love them).

This card was made with the retired SU stardust set and a the SU love matters sentiment. I stamped the image in Night of Navy and used my aqua painter with certainly celery, mellow moss, tempting turquoise and buckaroo blue to color in the image. Ribbon is from Big Lots $1 rolls. I then added glitter glue around the outer edges of the image. I then stamped the small whispy cloud pattern in Brilliance white on the Teal cs along the bottom. Patterned paper is Kaleiedoscope by MME I think. Thanks For Looking! I'll probably send this card to my mama.

Michelle's Card

Don't you just LOVE this card. My friend Michelle made it for me. She used technique tuesday stamps on patterned paper. I think it looks super cool. She hand doodled the rest (besides circles). She's so talented. Love her.

So here's a card that I made for one of my boy's at church. His birthday is this week. I have 12 kids in my 6-7 year old class and I wouldn't trade them for the world. They're awesome! I used my SU Word Find bg stamp with pumpkin pie for the base. I used my word window punch out to create the elipses around the words. The tiger is CTMH in taken with teal. Ribbons are Li'l Davis dollar bin at CK convention. Brads are Jo-ann.

Chirp Up!

I made this card for Jill's mom, Marilyn, because Jill put a call out for RAKS. Her mom just needs a little pick me up right now and I hope this helps. I used my SU Very Punny set and a premade card that had a square punched out of it. I found this awesome trim on clearance at Jo-Anns for 20 cents a yard. I think it might be a little big (overwhelming) for this card. I'll probably use the rest on a sb lo. I added glitter glue to the negatives and primas on top with buttons to kind of break up the color. Colored the image in with aquapainter and ink pads...Marvelous Magenta, Certainly Celery, Cool Caribbean. Sorry I had to take a pic of the card on it's back because I couldn't get a good pic of it upright.

Yesterday was great! I got all of the hollyhock seeds my neighbor gave me two years ago planted and watered in. I also planted some mint, three more saplings, sweet peas (flowers) and now I'm just a little sore. My morning glories are growing well and hopefully by the end of summer will be in full bloom, I hate that they're annual!

I just wish they'd come back every year on their own, oh well. So tonight after my "scrubby" gets home we'll plant the whole garden, pumpking, green beans, corn, cucumber, squash, and some other things. Hope all does well so I'll want to plant again. We went to our friend's house yesterday to celebrate their daughter's birthday and had a great time. We had a potluck and the kids just had a blast!

Beate's Sketch Challenge and my Flower Girl

I made this card for Beate's Sketch Challenge which was very simple and easy to complete. My friend's daughter is having a birthday party tomorrow so I hope she enjoys it. I used SU Very Puny with my SU watercolor crayons to fill in the image. I used my decorative scissors to cut a scalloped border for the image. Handwrote the sentiment and punched it out with the word window.

My daughter, Tessa, was a flower girl in a wedding on Friday and she was too cute! I kept explaining to her how to throw the flower petals out of the basket onto the carpet but she never actually got to practice with a real basket and flowers. So off she went on her own...taking one flower petal out at a time, bending over, and placing the petal nicely on the carpet. It took the two flower girls a while to get down the aisle and the audience was in fits of laughter over her antics. At first I was embarrassed and then I thought about it and I decided, she's four, what do they expect. At least it was a memorable experience!

Finally Finished

So I finally finished this lo that I've been working on for Aaron. It only took me a whole week! These pictures were taken when my sweet little boy was to sick he was diagnosed with failure to thrive. He wasn't growing and he was losing weight. Look at how tiny his legs were (now they're so chubby). He was finally put on Zantac which helped him stop vomiting and then he was on the road to recovery! His development in a lot of areas has been stunted because of his sickness but he's doing great now!.
Technique: I got tissue paper and then mod podged it onto the page for a whispy cloud effect and then I used Gary M Burlin glitter glue on all of the places the "clouds" weren't. I then used my word progam to create the title. I used white transfer paper to trace the title onto my lo and then filled it in with white prisma...dotted on the ends with glitter glue. Next I cut up my magnolia dp into strips and glued them alongside the lo. I chose my focal point pic and added a layer of torn white mulberry underneath it. I used what water brush and tempting turquoise to outline the Technique Tuesday chipboard wings and then colored in with prismas. I then attached them to my photo. The final step was the journaling strips. I cut out curvy strips from whisper white cs and tore the ends off. I used my SU watercolor crayons with my water brush to give them color. Waited for them to dry, journaled, then attached. I added the three flowers at the ver end to finish the lo. I wanted it to have a very etheral feel because this was such a time of unknowing in our lives.
The card was made for a wedding that I'm attending today. Butterfly is Stampendous colored with SU watercolor crayons, paper is Magnolia, Congrats is SU, ribbon is The Paper Studio.
Thanks for looking. Have a great weekend.

Forgot My Anniversary

Yesterday was my 8th anniversary and I totally forgot (so did my husband). We've just been so busy with T-ball practice, end of the school year, work... we just missed it somehow. We will probably celebrate this weekend anyway. So sad though. Sheesh. I will try finish my lo for Aaron today. Find some time somewhere, and upload it. Jakob graduated kindergarten today! He was so cute up there singing his songs and doing the motions. I was so proud of him! Here's a picture. He's the one in the middle. These are two of his best friends.

The Simpson's

I laughed for a full minute tonight! It was the Simpson's episode where Lisa's class has to build a diorama and they get judged science fair style by Principle Skinner and Mrs. Crobapple ( I think). Well Ralph ends up winning with his factory sealed mint Star wars figurines because Skinner was drooling over them then he says, "What's a diorama?" Well at the end he's skipping along past Lisa and her new found smart friend and saying, "I beat the smart people, I beat the smart people" he trips and say's "awww I bent my wookie. Then Lisa asks him to join them for a game of ANAGRAM just being the sweet girl she is. He then proceeds to say in his high pitched winy voice, "My cat's breath smells like poop." Now I don't know what that has to do with anything much of what Ralph says is pointless but I have to tell you, we just got a new kitten and it is NOT liking the food we are feeding it because it is smelling up my bathroom. The kids don't even want to hold it because it's a "smelly cat" (think Phoebe from friends). So I went into hysterics. It was just too close to home.

So I got pretty much no me time in today. Working too hard to finish signs and watching other people's children because they're sweeties... but here's a card I really enjoyed making...

I used mulberry paper behind the Hero Arts (?) stamps. used a kaliedacolor pad and a watch crystal to cover the watch face stamp from Rebecca Sower. I also used walnut ink to distress edges. Old card but I still love... so much so that it's still mine! Hehehe.

Also I just love this picture of Aaron. In trouble...pouting... mommy loves him.

Aidan Wyatt

What a weekend! On Saturday we went as a family to see Spiderman 3 (thanks Heather for the tickets) and it was pretty good. Aaron got fussy right at the end, to tell you the truth I'm suprised he did so well for so long, he doesn't even watch Sesame Street at home. I think it was the popcorn! So after that we went to eat at Mimi's. Everything was wonderful, I had the parmesan crusted chicken with penne. Travis had the western reuben? They were so nice and brought him a piece of chocolate mouse cake for his birthday. He's the big 31 now! We then went to pick up a kitten from Michelle's house that Nat's brother took there for us. We thought it would be good for the kitten we had gotten a week earlier to have a companion. NOT! They hate each other and the new one actually took off out the door. Hopefully it will come back. Oh, I bought Travis a welding helmet for his birthday because he's been hinting for a long time. It's not just ANY welding helmet, it's an auto darkening welding helmet! I have been working on signs and trying to finish a lo I've been creating for Aaron about when he was really sick for about a week now. I'm challenging myself to do something new this time.
Cards... made my SIL a "Howdy... heard you had a new little buckaroo" card. She lives in Texas now so it will be perfect. She had a little boy, his name is Aidan Wyatt and he's a wrinkled cutie! I used my prisma color pencils with oderless turpentine to color the cowboy kid in and used old olive on the cactus. I sponged chocolate chip around the edges of the image. Used DCWV designer paper from Jo-anns.
Have a great day. I totally love http://pandora.com/ you need to check it out lets you listen to so many kinds of music while surfing for free!

Friendship Card

This is the lo that we made at out monthly SU get together. So,I wanted to make a nice card for Erica, my SU demo, because she works so hard to come up with cool projects for us to make each month. She's also super nice and a hardworking mom to three kiddos. Not to mention the fact that she is YW president! Phew! Is that all? So here it is. I think I like it. So we had left overs for dinner last night. I was trying to fold the rest of the laundry. I've got a sink full of dishes and I really want to finish this sb page I've been working on for Aaron, about when he was really ill and not growing. Jakob has a T-ball game tonight (maybe) we'll see what the weather does.

ABC Book For Aaron

This is an abc book I made for my newly turned two little boy! It has a page for each of the 27 letters of the alphabet with a corresponding picture and alpha tag! I kept the paper colors to blues and green and used a ribbon or fiber across the page. I used a wood mini frame from Michael's on the fron cover. Thanks for looking

I had fun at our monthly SU meeting. I ordered Crab & Company and my cool caribbean re-inker. Bye bye beautiful in colors. Anyways, Tamne made us lunch and it was yummy. We made a SB page that I think I'll add my pics of Aaron asleep on the floor to. I think the colors will work.

Have a great day!

Daughter of my Heart

This picture of Tessa and me is sweet so I couldn't resist scrappin' it and telling the world what an angel she is. Well, then this morning at about 6:30am I awoke to Jakob explaining that Tessa spilled all that "shiny stuff" you have on your desk. Shrieking, I ran to my SB desk and sure enough there it was... a whole tub of copper pearl-ex smeared on my table, the floor, my chair. I wish I would have taken that picture but I was just too upset. She spent the next 15 minutes in her room thinking about why not to use mommy's stuff when mommy's not around. How do you replace just one tub of pearl-ex? I bought mine in a pack. Anywho, I guess no more copper accents. HAH! BTW how do you get pearl-ex out of carpet? I used the vaccum on it but there's still traces. Misty

My mom, Tessa and Me

I just love this picture of all of us girls, I have yet to scrap it, but I will! I actually picked that shirt out for my mom at the Goodwill. It was like 4 bucks. ( I told her to wear a shirt under it!) Mama!!! Tessa's piggies are all wild. Love that girl. Jakob took the pic!

Cowboy Kid for Malachi

This is a card I made for Chi, his b-day is on the 23rd. Hope he likes it! I totally lifted this idea from ctrmom3 on splitcoast. Her card took my breath away. Got almost nothing done today, except for this card and two loads of laundry, dinner (tostadas) vaccuming, and cleaning the kids bathroom, hey wait I guess I did do something. Our monthly SU meeting is on Thurs. EXCITED!

Beate's Sketch Challenge

I had so much fun doing these cards for Beate's Challenge! I used the faux batik technique we learned from Erica on the thanks card with Taken with Teal and Old olive along with SU tropical blossoms set. I think that my tiger word search card came out super cute. I used the SU word search bg stamp along with my CTMH Tiger and Magnolia papers. TFL!
