Bumper Crop

Look at this INSANE amount of carrots that we pulled out of our garden today. They're so good and spicy. Some of these carrots are so HUGE...like four inches across at the top.
Now what's even crazier is the SUPER, INSANE amount of turnips we pulled up. One of the turnips is, quite frankly, the size of my one year old's head!I loved the result of the spiced peach jam, and applesauce. Didn't enjoy the slaving over the stove. Can anyone say SALSA?!?!?!?

Bugs o plenty

You know this bloggin' thing is hard to do all the time. I had fun with this card. None of my cards won at the state fair which I knew would happen because I'm NOT at professional level. I don't spend five hours on one card. You should have seen some of them. INSANE. My page won a ribbon and I won a second place in scrapbooking on a double lo of my daughter and her cousin.
Have a great day.

This little booger...fills me with joy and consternation

Look at that sweet smile and those dreamy blue eyes...dont' let them fool you...he's a tornado all wrapped up in a toddler body!

What a serious mess. I love how he EATS the noodle that Aaron just picked off the back of his shirt!

State Fair Entry: Holiday

I made this card for the store...it didn't sell. Maybe people don't buy Easter cards anymore?!?! So I fancied it up a bit and made it my entry in the Holiday category. The egg stamp is from Impression Obsession. The flourishes are from Technique Tuesday. I just used ink and a water pen to fill in the egg. Hope you're all having a great day. Mines' been good.

State Fair Entry #2

This card was for the Non Occasion category. I wanted to make a circle card just to do something different. I used the Eastern Blooms set along with Delight in Life. The background patterned paper was made by inking up my white cardstock with various colors, stamping with versamark and then adding clear embossing powder. I heated the powder and once set went over the whole paper with Pacific Point ink. I call it my "clown collage". Definitely different from my usual style. Oh, the stems were embossed with Desert Rain embossing powder...really shimmery IRL.
Have a great day y'all.

State fair entry: Birthday

Here's the card I made for the birthday category at the NM state fair. (Thanks E for the image). Had fun layering it up. I added a couple of screw head brads to the ppr as the finishing touch. We'll see how I do as I got entered as a "Proffessional" just because I'd won a blue ribbon in the past. I'm not sure I'm near as good as a "Proffessional".

A little bit of life right now...

Working out. This is the floor of my car. I work out at a friends on Mondays and Fridays. I work out with Jenny on Tuesdays and Thursdays and sometimes I take Wednesday off but sometimes I go dig rocks!

Foggy mornings...it's beginning to look a lot like fall around here. The smell of green chile roasting...mmm. Speaking of green chile. Jenn and I split a 30lb box of mild and then I split a 30lb box of hot with Debbie. So, yup, I peeled, chopped and froze 3olbs of roasted green chile. I mixed the hot with the mild. You may ask, "was it worth it?". Well, I'll let you know next year.

The semi at the left of the pic was on fire when I was coming into town I drove right past it (no traffic jam then). When I was leaving town I snapped this picture. It brought me back to two years ago when my friends and I were involved in a car fire. There was never a traffic back up like this though. Thanks New Mexico for always going overboard and giving us yet another traffic jam!
Aaron started preschool. He goes for a couple of hours Monday through Thursday...just enough time for me to run to the grocery store and take the recycling in to town. Maybe go work out tou.
Hope you're having a great day.
