Simple and elegant card

I challenged myself to make a very simple card using only items that were already on my desk...The end result is simple and sweet I think. Back to stamping for me though :)

Mid Week Mojo Opal 8

I used Kristy's newest sketch over at scrapbook steals for this layout. I also participated in a challenge to scrapbook something about a body part.

Jakob's dimples are so striking. The moment he was born they were evident...the nurse commented :)

We like to talk about the craters in his cheeks and give him a hard time about how girls are going to fall into them :)...he gets them from his daddy so I should know.
Have a scrappy day!

Nativity Shadow Box Scene: Authentique and Paper Studio

I had gotten this Fancy Pants frame from Express the Moment and was waiting for something to inspire me to use it...then I saw this set of stickers from the Paper Studio at Hobby Lobby and just knew I had to create a  little nativity scene in it.
I backed most of the stickers with cardstock and then cut them out. The background papers are from Authentique's Gathering collection and their Free Bird Series.
This will be a gift for my mama and I hope that she enjoys it this Christmas. Have a joyous Thanksgiving! I am thankful for my family, my church, my friends and for all of my wonderful readers.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

A little Authentique goes a long way. I am so thankful for my family and friends, for getting to work with such an amazing company. For my health. For a warm home and food to feed my family and I. I am especially grateful for the gift of repentance and for a loving Father in Heaven that watches over me. I hope you have a blessed holiday.
-with lots of family and food and a bit of scrappy time!

Thanksgiving lunch and life :)

$5.00 to eat a school Thanksgiving lunch with my kiddos. Hmmm and I shared with the munchkin because I knew he wouldn't eat a whole meal.
Turkey, rolls, mashed potatoes, stuffing, canned green beans (blech), cranberry sauce and pumpkin cake.
Jakob was done in no time.
Thanks Gramy for the pumpkin hat for my birthday says little J. Also, thanks to Salvation Army in Edgewood for a seriously cool dinosaur that walks and roars...twenty five cents!
Thanks to little Larry Lee for having us at his baptism. It was super special. We love you and I hope you like your new set of wheels :).

Let's make a bowl/packet :) with Authentique

Because Authentique paper is such a nice weight you can create little keepsakes like this that will hold up in the mail.
you can find a template online

trace it and cut out the shape...then begin scoring the lines

fold on the scored lines

then press the scored and folded petals down :)

open and fill with a scrappy treat

Such a cute little flower box that you can mail. I'm off this morning to do some thrifty shopping. Have a super day!

Thrifty Thursday: Zoo Deal

Why do my children look so terrified?!?!? (well except for the smallest of the small ones (SkippyJonJones reference))
So, I bought a Zoo Pass which also includes the Aquarium and the Botanic Gardens and Butterfly Pavilion as well as concerts at the zoo and whatnot (I believe it was only $79 dollars for the year)
2 Adult: $7 each
4 Kid: $3 each
That would equal $26 for one trip just to the zoo for our family. All we need to do to get our money's worth is go to the zoo less than four times :). Now that's thrifty!
The bonus is we also get a discount on unlimited train rides from the zoo to the gardens. Little J LOVES trains. :)
The kids were out of school last Tuesday for election day and I thought I might get our money's worth out of our pass

Run, it's a cobra!!! I love how Jonah doesn't get it :)

Hey there cute froggie.

Love the lion...he's so loud sometimes.

Gotta feed the ducks!

Watch out for attacking Pea-cocks!!!

I just love how pretty it is there this time of year

They look a little chilly, no? We had a really good time and I got absolutely nothing done at home...perfect day.
Stay thrifty my friends.

Hey There Tiger:

I got some time to scrap with Erica yesterday at The Hen House Paperie. These pictures of Aaron were begging for a page all their own.

I had fun with this one. Carnival/State Fair feel

A little MME.
