Operation Write Home Party

Last Thursday I had an Operation Write Home Party at my house. I invited anyone who wanted to come over and make cards for the troops (for them to use) to stop by and create with me. A bunch of great ladies showed up at my doorstep...it might have been the bribe of freshly baked pumpkin bread that coerced them to come :) but never mind that. hahaha We had a great time and I feel amazing that we're donating these to people so deserving. I recently won a little give away from We R Memory Keepers because I sent in cards for OWH and I pledged that I would do more to support the cause-I mean I have enough paper to make 10 cards a day for the next year probably ;) Without further ado...the creations.

We ended up making 24 cards in just a few short hours. This is so stellar considering only one of the other gals considers herself a card maker. And all of the cards came out so pretty.

Nicole made me smile with her beautiful Valentine's day card or Love card.
Here's just a sampling of what was made.

Cindra made a bunch of great Christmas cards with these old collections I had stashed away and some Stampin' Up stamps.

Lots of layered washi on this one. I actually like how it looks over the plaid.

I had spritzed and punched these tissue paper labels a while back. I love how Erica made this banner.

Tera blew my mind with this picture perfect card. Love all the elements and the green!
So there you have it. I encourage you to get involved and use your talents in ways that help others. Have a super day!

Lego Minifig Shark Cake Birthday

The cake that the boy requested complete with shark (bath/swim toy) and deep sea diver lego minifigure. You should have seen me feeling up those packages of legos to find the one that had the diver in it! Jonah picked out THIS CAKE and I tried my best to replicate it with my uber lacking cake making skills. I had the hardest time finding a shark to go on top too until I stumbled upon this pool toy on clearance at Target. WOOT.

Yup, there are no more babies here. I have a four year old. Time has just gone by so quickly. He sure is a lovable handful. He definitely makes my days full.

In keeping with the shark theme of his birthday I made a shark card using the Stampin' Up Silly Sealife set.

He make my heart melt. He got new church clothes and a hot wheels race track for his birthday.
Some fun facts obout Jonah.
He loves trains and cars.
He is not really afraid of anything unless it's the Monster House movie
(he was hiding behind the chair for that one).
He loves his friend Nathan
He would eat tortillas every day if he could.
He is pretty mischievous when it comes to finding mommy's stash of chocolate.
He's learning to say the "s" sound on words so instead of "cooter" he'll say "scooter".
He has pretty awesome dance moves.
He's my only child to ever have stitches.
He lost both his big toe nails from a 5 mile hike we did and he never complained about it.
He loves his brothers and sister and tries to do everything they do.
He likes to use my punches and create confetti storms with the shapes.
He's got rolling his eyes at me down pat.
He is having a great time at pre-school two days a week.

Hope your day is super sweet!

Sweet Stamp Shop Embossing Challenge #2

Hello there! The new Flickr challenge is up over at the
I had a ton of fun playing along.
The challenge is to do some type of embossing so I chose to do the faux batik technique.
It came out so great with the Old Fashioned Afternoon set. The kites really pop against the inked background. And this is one of my favorite sentiments. So head on over and join in.
YOU
could be the next SSS guest designer!
Thanks and have a sweet day.

Let's Get Dirty: Dirty Dash

I am so glad I had a bit of time to scrap lately. I used the Coral #1 layout from Scrapbook Steals for this layout and I'm so happy with the results.I cut the flower out of the background with my Cameo and put some orange Chevron from MME behind it.

Flickin' ink on my thickers!

I love how DIRTY my kids are and how NOT DIRTY I am. I had already run 3.5 miles earlier that day with my girls and this time around I tried to stay as far out of the mud as possible. Both my boys went all the way under in the last mud pit.

Studio Calico Mr. Huey's to dirty up my paper.

Homemade white ink for spotches.
And that's how you do dirty people! My kids are hoping they can do it again next year.

Sweet Stamp Shop and Canvas Corp Altered Canvas

This was such a fun project for me. An altered canvas with some of  my favorite stamps and some great products from Canvas Corp.

The patterned papers are also from CC.

I received a swap box from a dear friend with the Petaloo flowers, ribbon trim and corsage pins. So lucky am I.
Canvas Corp burlap tags are just waiting to be dressed up.

The Pattern Craze set from Sweet Stamp Shop is so versatile and I love all of the different patterns. I added some Liquid Pearls to the designs.

Now my daughter has a special piece of art made just for her.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day. Make sure you head on over to the

Sweet & Silly all in the same day!

Have I mentioned lately how much I adore The Good Life collection from Fancy Pants...no, well let me tell you it rocks my world! I thought it would go perfect with these picture of my guy. He is starting to look so funny with all of his missing teeth, but just look how sweet he looks with his slight smile. I used the amazing Pearl 9b sketch, by Erica Bass, for Scrapbook Steals for this layout.

Aaron's a "late tooth loser" but he's losing a lot all at once.

"Sweet": Fancy Pants
"&": Doodlebug Designs
"Silly": Jillibean Soup
"in one day": Authentique

My wonderful swap box partner, Charity, sent me this paper collection and the awesome Trendy Tape washi to go with it! She is so amazing.

Seven is from Sassafras. I hand cut the paper to get the pinked edge. Thanks for stopping by. Have a super day.

Haunted House Sneak Peek

Welcome, welcome. Who can feel the beginning of fall in the air?!?! It's just around the corner and it's my favorite time of year in New Mexico.

I am so happy with this cute little house from Sweet Stamp Shop's new Haunted House set. I stamped the house, spray inked it and added a bit of distress ink around the edges fro shading. Stickles in the windows give it such a nice "glow".
I colored the eyes of one of the other stamps in the set and used them to peek at you from the archway. I hope you're having fun hopping along. Make sure to visit
and leave some love so you can be entered to win some SWEET goodies.
Have a great day and don't forget to make some time to create.

It's Raining Reveal

Welcome to the September stamp set reveal.
I just got back from our little Labor Day weekend jaunt where we picked about 10 pounds of raspberries!!! My oldest son told me each bucket was $5, turns out each pound was $5 and each bucket held two pounds. Yes, we spent $45.00 on raspberries!!! They are SUPER yummy and I hope we still get to enjoy them in the coming months after we freeze some.

I had such stained hands after picking...this card totally reminds me of our fun, family time. I sprayed ink and dropped it in various  places on the top of the card to get this look. I love this new set from SSS!

After getting so messy with the last card I went for a clean and classic card with some paper piecing. This umbrella image is perfect for piecing.

I love how bright and cherry it is.
Now hop on over to
and see what other awesome creations were made with this set!!!
Don't forget to leave a comment in order to be entered to win some SWEET goodies.

Such a cute little Halloween character from Sweet Stamp Shop.
